Wooden Office design ideas

In the name of circular design

The new eye clinic in Wiener Neustadt shows how functional design can work with natural materials. Glass partitions from the LESA range, with veneered profiles and clay panels, fit naturally into the overall design, creating a healthy and calming environment.

The rooms are divided by LESA glass partitions with veneered profiles. Wooden veneered doors add to the natural look. In smaller rooms, walls do not reach the ceiling, removing the need for a top door frame and creating a clean vertical line.

The Omega framed glass partition was used to meet hygiene standards in the operating room. Around the glass façade, there are staff corridors and a meeting room filled with indoor plants. These green spaces offer patients a relaxing view.

“The clinic’s furniture and equipment adhere to a sustainable, circular design philosophy, which is a hallmark of our studio. We blend new and refurbished elements, repurposing older office furniture to high standards and enhancing it with wooden details from sustainable sources. This approach creates an aesthetic that balances comfort with environmental mindfulness,” explained Dvorak and Zankel, designers from the Austrian architecture, design, and research studio joyjoy, known for creating joyful and friendly environments with a strong focus on sustainability and circular design.

Transformative Glass and Wooden Partitions at MS-INVEST

In the MS Invest project, the interior features a rich palette of timber cladding complemented by black-framed OMEGA partitions, creating a striking contrast. Both the cladding and partitions share a rhythmic articulation, adding depth and visual dynamism to the space. Instead of using wooden partitions, wood becomes the defining surface, while the metal frames introduce structure and tension.

The combination highlights how natural and industrial materials can interact in harmony. Integrated digital blinds enhance the environment, allowing for flexible light control and privacy. This project showcases a refined, contemporary approach to using wood in office interiors—not through mimicry, but contrast and dialogue.

At the new Toyota offices, LIKO-S installed its refined LESA® glazed wooden partitions, combining natural elegance with functional performance. The warm, natural tones of the wood create a welcoming and cozy atmosphere, ideal for modern workspaces. These partitions seamlessly blend veneered wood profiles with single or double glazing, offering both transparency and acoustic insulation up to 45 dB.

Thanks to a modular design with heights up to 3,500 mm, LESA® partitions can be customized to fit a variety of interior layouts. The system also supports glass or wooden doors, allowing for aesthetic and functional continuity. A key advantage of LESA® lies in its adaptability—spaces can be easily reconfigured as needs evolve. The use of wood not only enhances visual appeal but also promotes a healthier, more sustainable indoor environment. By combining the clarity of glass with the warmth of wood, the partitions offer both openness and privacy. Their clean lines and natural materials integrate harmoniously into Toyota’s office design concept.
